How to Build a Confession That Defeats the Enemy

This is Chuck's method. Five steps to build a confession so grounded in God's word that the enemy has no answer for it. Work through each step and watch your confession come together at the bottom.

Every great declaration starts here — with the word of God, made personal, spoken out loud, held under fire, and declared in advance. That's how you S.T.A.N.D.

S
Scripture
Find God's word that speaks directly to your situation.
"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Romans 10:17 KJV
Don't confess what you feel — confess what God said. His word is the foundation. You can't build on sand and expect it to stand. Find the scripture that hits your situation dead on — look it up in 2-3 translations and find the wording that resonates with you.
T
Translate It
Make it yours. First person. Present tense.
"...and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
John 8:32 KJV
Don't say "God heals people." Say "I AM healed." Don't say "God provides." Say "I HAVE provision." Don't say "God will..." — say "God HAS." You are the author. Write your story with God's words. Look at the scripture in different translations — what wording resonates most with you? That's your foundation.
Tip: Look it up in multiple translations. Find the words that hit you. Then make it personal.
A
Audible
Speak it out loud. Your voice matters.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
Proverbs 18:21 KJV
God spoke the world into existence. You are made in His image. Silent faith stays in your head. Spoken faith creates. Open your mouth and deploy heaven's army. Faith comes by HEARING — and when you speak your confession out loud, you are the first one to hear it. Speak it daily. Morning and night. Like medicine.
N
Never Quit
Hold your confession under attack.
"...and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore."
Ephesians 6:13-14 KJV
You keep standing. You don't quit. You hold your ground. The counter attack WILL come — that means it's working. The enemy only attacks what threatens him. When doubt hits, don't open your mouth and agree with it. Prepare your response NOW before you need it. What will you say when the attack comes?
D
Declare the Outcome
Call the thing you WANT, not the thing you HAVE.
"...God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."
Romans 4:17 KJV
God called Abraham the father of many nations before he had a single child. He called Gideon a mighty man of valor while Gideon was hiding in fear. Don't call the cat when you want the dog. Declare the end from the beginning. What does your life look like when this is fully manifested? Speak THAT.
